Control scheme tricks

just wondering if any of you guys had any different techniques for using your guitar controls to get different sounds from your amp while playing live.

I tend to put my strat in position 2 with rolled off volume and neck tone (amp with more treble to compensate), then for leads i switch to neck and if i need more volume i can dime the knob.

Any other ideas for using your guitar as a 'pedal board'?

on my double-fat:
Neck pickup, volume at like 6...clean channel.

Bridge pickup, volume at 6 or higher...distortion.

on my SSS:
Neck pup, tone rolled off...bluesy bassy chord cleans
Mid pup, tone disconnected...sharp trebly ska cleans
Bridge pup, volume dimed...it's a Hot Rails man how do you think it sounds? :D

When I use my Warmoth (HSH, 5 way), I use the split bridge/middle position with the volume rolled back to get clean rather than messing with a footswitch. That lets me go clean/dirty from anywhere on the stage. Pretty standard, but very helpful.
