Controlling Feedback

I have found that with my DR, its difficult to get sustained and controlable feedback.

What part of my rig should I be focusing on to get the feedback and what is the best way to induce nice harmonic feedback?

Re: Controlling Feedback

I've found you need gain and volume to induce the feedback and good muting techniques to control it. Also, pickups that are prone to microphonic feedback should be avoided as they will usually squeal way before you get good feedback.

Re: Controlling Feedback

I'm not trying to sound old and crass, but the more you play, and the better you get, and the more experience you aquire- you will learn when and how to induce controlled feedback at will. Your DR isn't an hot rod version is it?

Re: Controlling Feedback

Volume, and then gain. Do it the other way around and you get feedback from a thin, buzzy tone, IMO.

Sorry dude.
Im not using fender terminology here.
I'm using a mesa/boogie dual rectifier.
Not a Deluxe Reverb...
