Converting a 230 Volt Euro Amp to 120 volt US POWER

A Ficus
So I was looking at the prices on Thomann for Tube amps

and I wanted a HB Tube 15 amp at $229 (same as the Stage Right currently $379)

the HB is 230 volt for the euro market

swapping it to 120 would be re-tapping the transformer and changing the fuse

or would I need to swap the transformer?

I could just get an inverter for $50 on Amazon

Actually, I don't know if a power inverter would have any long range effect on the tubes/transformer/other components. I know people who have done it, but I don't know how well that works over time.

opening the trannt up and re-tapping it sounds like a pita. the converter looks like it should do the trick but ive never tried one.

Amazon has a smaller 300w one that says no hairdryer

So i think at least the 500w one linked

I am sure it won't hurt anything
I think I can plug into may pedal board to the extra 110 v outlet

I have tapped transformers in light ballasts
and converted 230v 3 phase equipment into 480v 3 phase at work

Just wondering if anyone had been into the transformer in an amp

And could say if they have multiple taps that I could convert

I don't want to buy one pay the new tariff only to find out I need a different transformer

That's interesting
I saw a scam ad n the Google shopping listing
It said $50 ea
Just hand over the banking information

I have checked the shipping

The Harley Benton has a 15/1 head unit that isn't offered in a 120 volt US version

So the head is $189 showing is $74 the voltage transformer is $30 , and in my Livingroom now

I think this will work

The stage right/Harley Benton is a copy of the Laney Cub and should be killer
