Coolest Synth Pedal!

Re: Coolest Synth Pedal!

I would definitely try before you buy...

It's got a HUGE learning curve.

Huge.

Re: Coolest Synth Pedal!

One of my friends bought a Mothership & let me check it out for a couple days...

I couldn't get much of anything beyond rocket-ship noises for most of the first day. Totally unplayable. Just weird glitchy noises... Day #2 was a little better... got something that sorta vaguely resembled music but it was still quite a ways off from what's happening in the PGS demo.

Not a plug & play pedal. Not even close to it.

Personally, if I need those sorts of sounds I'd rather play a keyboard...

On the flip side, there is all sorts of options there if you want to put the time into figuring out how to play the thing...

Pigtronix effects are certainly unique, as is their main man, Jeff. The pedal panel at the NY Amp show had me thinking, I'm not really a fan of his pedals, but I love the guy's moxie! :) That in itself made me want one of his pedals!

If you can figure out how to actually get usable tones out of any of those crazy analog synths, my hats off to 'ya because they're wild and crazy.

The Philosopher's Tone is DEFINITELY on my list of pedals to get really soon!!!
