Cover For '51 P-Bass Pickup?

Hi--

Just found this forum and look forward to participating.

I zapped the stock pickup on my Fender '51 Reissue Precision bass last night. I was wondering if there is a cover available for this pickup, which seems kind of vunerable. The replacement I had installed is the Seymour Duncan SCPB-2 Hot Pickup.

Now, I have the chrome metal piece that goes over the pickup. What I am asking about is something that would conform to or fit tightly on the pickup itself to keep the strings from accidentally catching on the upper edge of the pickup bobbin.

I don't know the answer--maybe you can email Duncan to see if they can do that for ya.

the only real solution that ive seen is to use a piece of tape over the edge
