If you buy a duncan STK single coil pickup (I have the STK-9b) are you stuck with the cover? I haven't found any cover replacements available, all I can find is the Hot Stack covers. I was hoping for an aged white or parchment look on this pickup if possible.
You might be able to darken your cover a bit to approximate vintage white or parchment. If they're epoxied on, dipping or soaking obviously aren't options. But I've read that some have used a solution of dye and/or shoe polish to age plastic.
with humbuckers, the wire is actually wrapped around the plastic bobbin, the stacks just have the cover epoxied to the base. you could put a cover on the humbucker if you really dont like the color
