Covers for Vintage Rails?

Hello,

do standard (closed) pickup covers fit on Vintage Rails pickups? (I've got two old white Vintage Rails for neck and middle position, I guess they are from the first production run (only 2 wires).

I think cool rails are pickup and cover all in one.

No, the first version of the Vintage Rails didn't have a cover, the coil was only protected by a tape:

But they are still designed around being fitted without a cover. Hence from a functional point of view, they are still a pickup and cover in one.

In the current production version, the pickup/cover is one thing. The cover is glued on. So my guess is that the cover over the other cover won't work. I think it looks cool as it is.
