Coyote Convertible Slant Cab

I recommend this Coyote conertible slant cab for anyone interested in the slant design - nice work, great value. Rob worked with me by sendinging without grill cloth and to specs matching my stock D'Lite 1x12 cab.

  • Got the matching grill cloth and piping
  • Settled for EVM12L in open back top & G1265 in sealed slant (tried both)
The pair may be growing on me ... but I haven't tried them at live volumes yet ... pair of EVM12L would be good though if not
  • The cab to the left is my sealed 2x10 Eminence 105 cab
  • Since all cabs are 8 ohms and my amp can be set for 4, 8 &16 ohm - I have a lot of choices

What do you think?

BTW the fridge in the background is required gear in our practice room ... it doesn't necessarity need a power amp but it helps! :D

Re: Coyote Convertible Slant Cab

I think it will work out well ... gives a 2x12 feel. I had a Celestion G1265 in a box that I wasn't using.

Hope it sounds good with the EVM12L at live volumes. If not, I may have to get another EVM12L and put it back in the box. :disappoin Although the 1x12 EVM12L can handle everything the amp can throw at it alone. It also sounds better than the other two cabs when compared one-on-one. So I could just use the Celestion 1x12 alone when I'm looking for that sort of ound.

Re: Coyote Convertible Slant Cab

Decided to buy another EVM12L reissue (on order) after borrowing my old EVM12L from my son and doing a bit of experimenting. Probably sell the G1265 ... great speaker ... but there's just something really nice about the EVMs that work for me with an amp that creates the distortion in the amp (D'Lite & old Boogie Mark 1). Just don't need any added breakup from the speakers I guess.

So I can stack the two EVM12L in either 4 ohm parallel, 16 ohm series, or either (open back, convertible) as an 8 ohm load. I can also swap my Emi 2x10 8 ohm anywhere in there for a bit looser cab.

Don't really need 2x12 (400w together) with a 33w amp ... but it sure does sound good. :D
