Crackling noise from my Bassman

UGH! I'm getting weird crackling noise from my Bassman now. Didn't used to do this before... It kind of sounds like when you unplug your instrument cable while the amp is on. Could this be bad tubes?

bad cable? input or output jacks and pots come to mind

fire up your amp & push the tubes to the side ever so slightly

if they crackle, then you're having the same problem i am & just the sockets need to be retensioned

The only time i had problems like this is when I had a loose solder joint inside the amp...

maybe its just old tubes, this happened severely with my peavey classic a couple of months back.

Damn, I'm having this problem too and I was hoping it was my DS-1 or my crappy little cable......sure hope it's not some far-spread Bassman epidemic
