Hey,
There is a Crate blue voodoo 60 2x12 combo in the paper near me for quite cheap and im wondering what these are like.
To raise the money to get it io would have to sell my Marshall Valvestate V8080. Would i be wise to do this? I know id be going from SS to tube but would the swap be worth it or would i be better off with my current amp?
Thanks,
Nick

It'll be a step up from your marshall, but I don't think you'd want it forever.

I was planning on getting the head, but a friend of mine told me not to do it. It doesn't really have much dynamics, and I've read they aren't very durable. So I'm looking into some more expensive stuff now, I for one know they don't sell very easilly (I think a musicstore nearby has the same stack for like 3 or 4 years now)

They really aren't bad amps for the money.

If you play metal, the high gain channel does work well. Shredding was a heck of a lot of fun.

The clean channel is your run of the mill multi-channel clean, I'd say that I like it more than most amps near it (aka Marshall, most Mesas - not Lonestar or Blue Angel).

It's a step up from the Valvestate for sure and it really is a decent amp, just because most of Crate's stuff is garbage doesn't mean that all of it is. Hey, Sammy Haggar (Van Halen) and Marty Friedman (Megadeth) can't be too far off, right?

I've got a Blue Voodoo 120watt half stack and I LOVE it. The 60 2x12 is really nice too. I dont think you would be sorry. :)
