Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

Re: Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

And even closer...

Good job man. I know you did a bit on your last thread but can you give a touch more insight into the AMS settings/plug you used?

To me the triple track made it just a touch too muddy, but we all know Randy was notorious for being able to double/ triple himself to a T, so that may be a factory there.

Re: Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

When it gets this close...any nit-picking is just pointless splitting of hairs lol. Can't tell the difference..

Very well played .and you nailed the solo too \m/

Re: Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

Thanks - the AMS DMX 15-80s is being emulated by the Soundtoys Microshift VST.

Seems they are the only one that offer a (professional) plugin that does the trick.

The "III" button is the AMS. The other two do Eventide 3000H settings.

Re: Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

Eventide does as well, and they invented the 'micro shift' effect, which was originally NOT an effect but a mod that engineers did on one of their algorithms, which Eventide then incorporated into later models as an actual 'micro shift' preset...

Yes, but they don't offer an AMS DMX 15-80s emulator.

Have that Eventide bundle and my fave is the original H910 (use that with Boston tone).

In fact, the H910 (and dual H910) and the AMS DMX 15-80s are probably my favorite pitch shifters. Vintage!

Re: Crazy Train (Triple Tracked)

Nice! I like using Little Alter Boy + delay for micro shifting, personally...

The H910 is only for PT though correct? Man I'd love if someone did a wrapper.

Oh damn, I see UAD did one...still don't have $200 for it. Would love to slap one of those on my snare (BiB anyone?)

EDIT: Eventide also released it as part of their anthology set. Man, I was looking for this last year, and now there's 2 I can get? Who wants to lend me a few hundred bucks? hah
