Crossley Rock Pig

Hi Guys,
Just finished building this for Moi
My specs were to build a simple guitar to use as a total Rock Pig..
I wanted one bridge pickup, a "Special" Mick Brierley with extra added pixie dust that I have been saving for just such an occassion,
A PRS NOS trem, cos I was so impressed with the last one I put on a clients guitar,
One Volume, push pull coil split. No mucking about with a tone control here kiddies, the tones ALL in the pickup, I just want big.
Quilted maple top, Dark Trans Black
Mahogany body, Blackest of Black hard dense Ebony, triple bound
Purple heart/Silky Oak/Jarrah/Qld Maple neck
Pearl Sperzels

An Inlay written in Elvish (for all you Elves) of a saying close to my heart, and used on many occasions

I have been giving it a bit of stick, and it lurves it...
The Rawk Pig.....

That is one PURPOSEFULL guitar there Pete.

I'd love to hear it played in anger...............menacing:beerchug:

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

 I've been battling gas ever since playing/seeing your creations at the AIMS show, plagued by endless fantasies of having my own spec'd out Crossley... Should've played the red one with the PRS trem, after hearing all the talk about how good they are.

I bet this is a screamer, a fact that belies its svelte appearance (like velvet). Tengwar script is very smart (not seen it used thus before), though I think you left out the diacritics denoting the vowels, but no biggie. Only a Tolkien geek (i.e. me) would notice :).

:friday: :cool2:

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

WOW. Really not one for pretty guitars in general but this one is so against the pretty guitar tradition that it's incredible... LOVING it. Do you ever make bolt ons Peter?

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

Beautiful work, man. That top is amazing.

Can we get a translation of the elvish?

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

I love the juxtaposition of 'no-nonsense' rock axe and your design and build skills. Fabulous stuff Peter.

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

Ah, I love a good bound fretboard.

That, in conjunction with the dark fretboard and the no fret-position markers on the board + an inlay looks great.

Nice work!

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

D@mn that's one heck of a guitar.

You've really outdid yourself with that one Pete!!!

Rock on :headbang:

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

Gonna get your 80's shred on, eh?

Very nice! How much abuse can the whammy take? What brand?

Re: Crossley Rock Pig

That just might be my favorite there Pete. I like that you used mother of pearl on the inlays instead of that tacky abalone you tend to throw onto your other ones. You make such beautiful guitars and this one rocks with a more minimalistic flair that's awesome. Between the inlay, the PRS trem and that finish, it looks like it's ready to throw down.
