Crunch Lab - in search for "sweet spot"

I've finally installed CL into my RG570. My first impression was… crystal shrill…
On the clean channel of my amp it sounds kinda' weird, I'm used to warm tone on clean so when I've heard how mid-focused and almost lifeless crystal is the pickup, I was surprised. Maybe even kinda' disappointed :-\
But with distortion all the disadvantages have got away, no, they've just become real advantages of CL! This "crystal clear" mid bump is so important when it comes to distortion. My amp like to sound muddy on the OD channel - it's powerful but sometimes lacks tightness because it's so full of bass - so I'm usually using TS808 to get Jet City "in shape". But today I decided to try the sound in configuration guitar->amp only. Crunch Lab makes the sound so tight and clear, even with gain at max! What's kind of embarassing on the clean - this "crystal shrill" of what I'm complaining about - is the thing that makes pickup sound so awesome under loads of gain. I think that I don't even need TS anymore.
My opinion of Crunch Lab - full of mids, sounding strange on clean but the best on the distorted tone.
And I've played beginning of "On the backs of angels" on the CL and I have to say that IT IS the sound of these clean arpeggios like right from the cd. I'm just used to more warm tone on the clean :)

But I have a question - does anybody can help me with pickup height? Where and how to search for "that sweet sound"?

Just trial and error, sir. There is no specific height that is general for all guitars/set-ups. Only you can find what you consider "sweet" on your equipment.

The CrunchLab is great with gain–make that awesome with gain. But I like to play cleans too. Do you have it paired with the Liquifire? (JP set)

Ok, but how users define "sweet spot" on Crunch Lab? I'm totally gringo at it, do I just have to make it sounds good for me or to look at certain specified sounds, like more bass or something like that? HOW to find "sweet spot"?

No, I didn't paired it with LF yet. I'm going to buy Ibanez 5-way switch for HH (I can't recall its number, but it all about different positions: neck, neck parallel, neck+bridge, neck+bridge (inside coils) and bridge) because I don't use and pretty don't like the middle, single pickup. I don't have money to buy LF yet, but I will probably... or maybe Air Norton or PAF Pro... I'll see. I like warmer tones coming from the neck so maaaybeee PAF Pro is a better conclusion.

Well, the only sweet spot I found on the Crunch Lab was high gain on my Mesa Boogie or high gain settings on the Line 6 POD. lol On a serious note, I had trouble dialing it in...but some people absolutely love that pickup and I am not trying to bash it by any means, I just couldn't dial it in.

On the flip side, I absolutely love the Liquifire! I have it paired with a Screamin Demon–they blend so well together. Personally I describe the Liquifire as warmer than most neck pickups...so perhaps that is what you are looking for? It takes dirt very well but handles cleans better than any neck pickup I've played.
