Curiosity about Quarter-Pounder guitar pickups

One of my more favorite pickups SD offers is the Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pounder, which definitely added a lot more output/mid-rangey growl to my Precision.

However, I'm a bit curious about how the quarter pounders fare for guitars - I guess more specifically, how do they stack up compared to regular single coils and P-90s? How do they fare next to humbuckers?

I used to like the QP for Strat a lot, but these days I find that it is wound too hot.

It gives you some "Blackmorish" cleans very easily, but I found it is a dead end going further, once you have proper treble boosting you need a vintage wind.

These days I wish SD would offer a QP with a awg42 wind.

Having said this, I left my QP in the middle position and it gives very nice sound options there.

i'd be interested in one of those, would make an awesome middle pickup with a phat staple neck and various bridge humbuckers, say in an LP
:deal:
