This originally started as sheets of plexiglass from a hockey rink. I have a Danelectro neck to put on it. Next up is f holes and the neck pocket. It sure has been an experience!

I still have a lot left to do but it was pretty much learning on my own to get to this point as far as materials and stuff. Summer house projects took over for a while but I'm hoping to get back to it shortly.

that ought to be quite sweet looking when done! Might be heavy though!

yeah it is pretty heavy but if nothing else will look sweet once all the electronics are in and i'll just play sitting down

Cool. I seem to remember you asking questions or discussing this project way back. Am I right? Glad to see it coming together.

Right you are! I tried to cut them first but gave up pretty quick on that and went with the router. Then I snapped the shank on a standard bit pretty quickly and moved to a 1/2 in shank. That one also cracked toward the end of what I had to do. Granted they were from Rockler and not intended for plexi but that stuff is hard on bits! I went through two adhesives to find one that worked well (the first flashed off too quickly) and then a TON of hand sanding and wet sanding to get things clear again.

After seeing the Q-tuner in Daemon BBQ's thread I think that would look awesome on here!
