Custom 5/ Screamin' Demon Hybrid?

Hi, has anyone tried this? A friend of mine wanted to experiment and wanted some input on this. What was your experience on this? How has it turned? Thanks in advance

yup. I really like it. It's like a fatter 'Demon or like a tighter, cleaner Custom5. Yeah, good one.

oh, you can compare it to a less harsh, more musical BKP Juggernaut.

Next, try it with a regular ceramic in it.

orpheo, I have the suspect that the Demon bridge uses the same bobbins as the Custom.
Never mind, got it wrong!

The Demon has underwound bobbins compared to the Custom. Different wire, different wind, different DC resistance. A Demon bobbin is only ~5K compared to ~7K-7.1K for a Custom.

Worth a try. I'd put an A2 or UOA5 in it to tame the high end and fill in some midrange.

Dammit! I've mistaken the Demon with the Full Shred bridge!

different wire? Not as far as I know? look at how little wire there's on the SD bobbin.

Different type but same gauge as the Custom series (43). I could be wrong on the type but I know it's 43AWG.

I've done several...I like it much better than the 59/C hybrid. It has a fuller livelier sound with a more even EQ.

I assume you use the hex screw bobbin along with obe from the Cu5, right?
