Custom Bucker Mag Swap or Replace?

Yo pickup forum bros.
Recently picked up a killer playing and sounding R8.
The Custom Buckers are a bit edgy in the highs, and I'm wanting just a bit more dirt from them.
They both measure close to 8.2 ohms. I think the volume is fine. Just wanting some more mids, grind, and less edgy highs.
I replaced them with Motor City 2nd Degree Black Belts. The edgy highs are gone. The bridge is a bit hotter, neck a bit tame and darker.

Love the Antiquity neck and BB3 bridge in my LP Classic. They have more mids, a tighter attack and just a bit more grind. So, I'm thinking that A2 mags in the CBs might do the trick. Or maybe A8s?

Or, I could flip the MC 2BBs and CBs and go on a hunt for the perfect pups. I'm thinking Pearly Gates, Slash set, Wolfetones...

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Try putting a UOA5 in the bridge and maybe an A4 in the neck.

Don't sell your cb's. That's the best thing Gibson's made since the original PAF and if you ever need to sell it swap them back in.

The PG's aren't as good, the neck is pretty damn close though, I haven't play Billy's CS version though.

Shouldn't A2's be more scooped? What about a rough UOA5?

I agree with UOA5 in the bridge. Maybe A3/A2 in the neck. Although, A4s work well in certain PAF winds. I have Wizz pickups (A4) in my R8. It's up to you if decide to sell those Custombuckers. You can probably fetch $400-500 easy if you wait for the right buyer. You can essentially pick up the right set for your R8.
