Custom Charvel

Hey guys I just received my Custom Charvel it has this set up:
It has a Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge in black and a Duncan 59 humbucker in the neck in black as well. My question is I wanted it to come with a 3 way toggle switch instead they made it with a 3 way blade switch would you send it back to get the toggle or leave it the way it is? It also has 1 volume and 1 tone knob 2 push pull pots for coil tapping each pick up. Thanks in advance!

Re: Custom Charvel

Blades are cool, I prefer them so I'd keep it. Sounds like a cool guitar.

Re: Custom Charvel

Thanks so much for the input! Yes it's a Shredding machine and the neck is like butter

Re: Custom Charvel

Awesome! I like that pickup combo a lot too.

Re: Custom Charvel

I prefer blades over toggles even though I think toggles often look better.
If I were going with a toggle I would get a better quality one and not those cheap proline or allparts loose-feel toggles.

Re: Custom Charvel

Got it well it would be whatever Charvel would use... do u think a blade is better for playability or a toggle?

Re: Custom Charvel

By "custom" do you mean "Custom Shop"? If so, did you specify 3-way blade or 3-way toggle? What's "Custom" about it over a production model?

Re: Custom Charvel

Pictures!!!!!! As far as sending it back, it really depends how important the method of switching is to you.. If it throws you out of whack, send it back. If it was true custom shop, then if it wasnt built to your specs, then have it changed.

I can't agree more with that. If it was made to your specs and you asked for a toggle switch, I'd send it back, it really should be what you've asked for, period! ;)

Re: Custom Charvel

Use an image hoster (not photobucket anymore) but google images, ingur etc. Let us know what you use and we can guide ya the rest of the way.

Re: Custom Charvel

they should have stuck to the spec sheet you provided. if it's a front routed guitar with a pickguard, the change would be supersimple. If not, I'd ask for a partial refund and live with the blade if you really like the guitar.

Personally... I'd go 5 way.

Re: Custom Charvel

You can use the forum's own image uploading software. It is all I've ever used here.

If it is a custom guitar, and you paid for a toggle, send it back. I like blades, so if I paid for my custom guitar to have a blade switch, and it came with a toggle, I'd be upset.

Re: Custom Charvel

Appreciate it guys hopefully I can figure out how to upload a pic I was upset at first but after talking with some famous guitarist like Doug Aldrich and from a lot of your guys input most people prefer the blade. So I'm not that upset anymore the guitar doesn't have a pick guard. All good thanks again for all your help guys!

Re: Custom Charvel

Don't be so sure about that. I don't care what Doug Aldrich or Mickey Mouse prefers, if I order a custom guitar, the manufacturer better stick to the spec sheet or it's not a custom otherwise. Plus, I reckon you paid a premium, no? So, you have every right to complain or get your money back.

Re: Custom Charvel

I much prefer toggle over blade. But its not a deal-breaker. If the guitar plays and sounds good, ask for a partial refund and then enjoy your new slightly discounted shredding machine.
