Custom Chassis

Re: Custom Chassis

Is it a particular size you are looking for or a standard size (Marshall / Fender) and just your decisions on hole placement? I usually get a blank chassis and do the hole punching myself using actual hole punches.

This is an amp I'm currently building that started as a complete blank chassis (no holes). I did all the hole punching myself and had BNP Lasers make the faceplates from a layout I did in Corel Draw. I powdercoated the outside of the chassis also - I have the equipment to do smaller parts. Sorry for the big pictures - I had no way to resize them here at work...

You may find some guys that will custom make a one off / punched chassis for you, but it's gonna cost you... You're better off buying the 4 or 5 punch sizes you need and picking up a blank chassis for 30 bucks.

If you can work with a standard size pre-bent blank chassis, I can do all the holes to your spec for 35 bucks. Just PM me if you're interested

Re: Custom Chassis

You can try this guy in Texas.rkwork@tisd.net Don't know if he still in Biz? He made my 2204 chassis to my specs. in '05 for around $70. At that time I was unaware of blank chassis's ,And nobody made a 2203/4 style chassis at that time. Blank chassis's are ready available now in ALL shapes & Sizes. If I had to do it over again? I'd go with the $35 blank closes to my spec. & a $10 step drill bit. And be done with it.:cool2:

BTW, If your looking for a BF/SF Princeton Reverb chassis Lazar cut to my specs. (basically stock, but will accept a deluxe PT) I've got one left! I had a buddy that worked in a door factory that hooked me up! Took about a hour and a 1/2 to plot my specs. into the computer,10 minutes to cut the holes,10 minutes to bend the metal on a brake. Like TGWIF said, It would have cost a small fortune to have this done without a inside connection. ( He no longer works there, So my connection has dried up)

Do you use a nice Greenlee punch, or does a cheapie from Harbor Frieght work as well?
