Custom Custom and newbie

Hi everyone,

I'm new and this seems to be a great forum. I hope I can use your help to determine which pick up I should choose or other information. I just bought the TB-11 Custom Custom for my Charvel with ebony fretboard and it sounds great!! I had a TB-14 (Custom 5) but although the rhythm parts were okay, the soloing was not. Too thin and harsh.
In the neck position is the SLSD-1 george lynch li'l screamin' demon which is a great pick up too. Very good match. I also have a Pearly Gates a JB and some SSL 5's. A few of the pick up's can be heard on my web site (Demo and when you click on several photo's)
When clicking "Arrowhead" you can hear solos out of the rehearsal room with the TB-14 on the Charvel and you hear it's too thin and has not a really nice tone.:smack: Maybe you could give your opinion on this and the guitar sounds that are on the demo? Thanx

I always been a fan of the JB pick-up,but i put a CC in my paul and i'm surprised at how good it sound.
Warmth for days.

Yeah, it's very smooth, fluïd and elastic (how do you describe a sound:duh: )
Do you also have experiences with the SD distortion. I'm thinking of buying one for an older Ibanez with maple body and rosewood fretboard. Or should I stick with the CC here as well....

Re: Custom Custom and newbie

I personally love the CC. I've tried many pick ups from the JB to the Dimebucker, and the CC is my favorite, at least in my Hamer Monaco Elite.

Round and fat should describe the sound..
I never tryed a SD.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I loved my CC, but I wanted a little more punch. I went with a 59/CC Hybrid (A2). Very smooth lows, with sparklin highs. Just how I like it.

how did you go about hybriding your pickup?

DUDE you live in Amsterdam and a Charvel? We HAVE to meet up and have a beer :) My parents live there though I study in Edinburgh and I got 2 model series Japanese Charvels myself.
