I agree, i use a floyd loaded guitar and thought maybe the CC would be a nice toned pup for the thinness, brightness of the ibanez RG's.Majestic said:You really need to consider the guitars owned by the people who are responding.
Anything with a stainless steel bridge is going to handle the "mellowness" of that pickup better than a vintage trem, or something with a chrome-plated bridge. A stainless steel bridge is inherently "brighter" than one that isn't comprised of the same metal, whether or NOT it's blocked, or a floating or locking tremolo.
Not to mention the amplifier.....

Ditto! Sounded the same way in my alder Floyd guitars.ranalli said:Well maybe his guitar as a ton of mids naturally in it's sound but like I said in the other thread it sounded way scooped in my Les Paul. And the one thing I did like about it was the bottom end but it just had no balls in the middle.

Stevo, that was a great job showing what the CC can do!!!!Stevo said:

I always overlooked the CC because I figuered an A2 magnet deosn't have balls. But after hearing stevo's clips I must say it can have a very fat and rough sound while remaining smooth and sweet!
How is the palm muting under gain with a CC? I mean is it a tight pickup?
+1 the CC is tight and the harmonics are really good. I had over looked the CC also until I got one on a trade and I decided to try it out. I hit my first cord with it and it was all over with. I said goodbye to my Pearly gates bridge very quickly.Benjy_26 said:It's very tight in my guitar, though my guitar is VERY bright (all maple Carvin DC127T with ebony fingerboard). I get great palm mutes, sustain for days, and awesome harmonics from this pickup.
