Custom for Ibanez

I want to look at purchasing a set of Black Winters for an Ibanez 7 String. However...the customshop is worthless. Is there not a way to just send an email to SD to create a pair of pickups to fit Ibanez? I'm would put them in a K7 if that helps. I would like to have the option of a gray cover as well, like the original PAF-7 pup.

Um, they make 7 string BWs, and gray covers are probably a Shop Floor Custom option. Just call them during business hours. Scroll down and their number is in the "connect with us tab", and there's also a button for their email if you still want to go that route.

I think he's talking about the direct-mount pickup routes designed to fit DiMarzio baseplates with the triangular mounting tabs. That design is DiMarzio-specific AFAIK, and he'll need to modify the routes slightly for SDs to fit.

Ah, that makes sense. Couldn't a guy just Dremel off the corners of the mounting tabs?

Also, I'm not so sure that it's exclusive to DiMarzio, because Suhr has the same tabs.

You learn something new all the time. I also can't believe I didn't think of taking a dremel to the tabs, but then again I don't own any guitars with direct-mounted pickups.
