This is the tele that I just put together last week. It has a swamp ash body and a custom shop BG-1400 bridge pickup with a strat hot stack in the neck position.
The recording is a little raw, without any effects added. I used a Maxon CS-9 on the guitars. The 1987x and the greenback speaker are reissues.

I didn't use a pick :D

Clean and dirt.... Tele-Plexi Tune

oops ... I forgot your equipment and just listened to the tune ...
surf-crunch? well, not really ... I don't care what you call it, I always like your tunes

sing one, Steve!

I'm starting a song ... the lyrics so far are,
"They say Time is a River,
and Time heals all wounds .."

well, that's a start ..

I almost thought I heard an acoustic at the beginning - at least it sounded like one ..
I almost want to dub that song "Two Turns South" ... don't ask me why

nice tuneage!

To perpetuate like water, and wash away a fangled gloom.

And like the river rolls
out to the sea
I'll see these clouds roll by..

Hey Caveman thanks bro. I was messing with this tune yesterday afternoon and the inlaws showed up by suprise.. had to put it aside while we had a little BBQ.. my father-in-law forced me to have a few brews with him (he's good at that :D ) so I was a little buzzed when I finished the tune last night :)

Cool one, Steve!

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

Duuudes thanks for checking it out :)

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

I really love the song. It's so laid back and relaxing. My favorite part is the clean runs you do, but the crunch is pretty good. I love your style :)

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

Chris thanks for listening. I really like the way the plexi sounds when clean. It almost reminds me of blackface tone.

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

Nice tune, nice tone, great playing Steve.

So much talent in this forum.

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

And another brilliant song by stevo!
I really dig your surf tunes.

Re: Custom Tele with Plexi, Maxon Chorus, Greenback Speaker

nice song. great playing as normal.

if i may make 1 little suggestion though, durring the distorted chrod playing, turn the distortion down a few notches. i just thought that the song had a nice laid back sound, and that made me jump.

Artie Too - I agree, there is a lot of talent here. Thanks

PA I guess the surf element is in the blood :D I surf but I'm not a surfer (in other words, I suck :D ) I definitely have melodies in my head after getting clobbered out at Pismo.
My Dad listened to the Ventures and so do I. I have always liked their melodies and feel for the notes. My band covers "Walk Don't Run" and I also really like their version of "Apache".. simple but melodic, lot's of feel.
Thanks man

I was weened on that Ventures stuff, and I like a lot of the classic surf tunes, but another one that's cool to cover (not strictly surf, though) is "Secret Agent Man" :)

"Secret Agent Man" :)
Oh yes - done that :) That is a fun song to sing also.
"You let the wrong words slip, while kissing persuasive lips" :D

Thanks xerxes. I create these little demos very fast, and later I listen to them and try to find a few that I would like to work with. I will keep your suggestion in mind if I work on this tune in the future :)
