"Cut to fit a Les Paul Standard"

Hello!

Someone is getting me some SD pickups but they say that the wires have been cut to 'fit' a Les Paul Standard. Why you'd need to cut wires I don't know, but is it likely that it won't be long enough to fit my Epiphone SG?

I am worried

Hello % welcome to the forum.
a) You normally cut the wires in the process of soldering them in so you don't have the wires all over the cavity.
b)If it's too short, you can solder another wire to the end of it and tape it and it's like a longer wire again.

Welcome Coin...

I agree with what KB said..... Fortunately, the cable runs of a Les paul are generally a bit longer than those of an SG, so you should be fine.

Also, making the pickup leads as short as possible also helps reduce the chance of signal interference and ground noise. Long leads can be antennae like. I change pickups fairly often for experimentation and tend to leave the leads at least neck position long so they can go in the neck or the bridge.
