Damn strat bridge humbucker again...

I recently got rid of a Suhr type wiring harness I had installed on a stratocaster, the sound was very screechy and unpleasant for some reason, tried three humbuckers with that one. I also tried disengaging the treble bleed circuit thinking it might be causing the problem, it helped but just a little. The guitar tech doesn't see why there should be a problem of this sort with the harness.
So now I am considering two options. I go back to a 250k pots setup, and then I need to find a suitable humbucker as I dont want a single-sized anymore, and I'd like to try a Duncan this time. The guitar is an sss version of 90s Lonestar strat (alder/rosewood), which was coming with a Pearly Gates Plus originally, so I am considering a regular Pearly Gates for the job. It is impossible to acquire a Plus version where I am located. The guitar is a pretty full-sounding, it has a SRV type voicing in my humble observation, so I am thinking maybe a more scooped humbucker like A2 pro might work well? I intend to use the original Texas Specials or Fralin Vintage Hots for singles..
For an alternative strategy: little do I understand guitar electronics, but I could order an Allparts stacked 500k/250k pot if you guys suggest it will be helpful in an HSS configuration.
My playing interests are Classic to Hard-Rock mainly. Thanks for bearing with me, best regards.

OK let me take it down to two questions:
Is Alnico 2 pro a good bet in the bridge of a stratocastor with traditional electronics?
Does anyone know anything about the Stacked Dual 250/50k pot? (not that I think there is any chance that people dont know about it here, just rhetorical)

Re: Damn strat bridge humbucker again...

im a big fan of the pg in the bridge with moderate output singles like the ts. theres a bit of a bump in output but it works well

Re: Damn strat bridge humbucker again...

Well, an A2Pro isn't really scooped at all...so if you want something scooped, that probably won't be it. However, the A2Pro will solve the screech problem. So will a Custom Custom, but I am not sure you want something that powerful.

I suppose TSs and PG share some type of Texas accent, I really love the former, trying to be certain about the latter.

The screech problem was associated with the wiring harness I dismantled. I like a sweet top end though, and no I dont want anything that powerful as CC. Scooped is what the eq chart on the site suggests to me for A2pro. Thanks for the help!

Another of the issues with the newer website is the patently wrong info on there. That bar chart is closer to the 59 really.

Re: Damn strat bridge humbucker again...

If you are interested in Fralin Vintage Hots, get his Unbucker for the bridge. It is an amazing combination!

I think I will go with Texas Specals this time... But I will consider the Unbucker too thanks. I dont have access to the fancy electronics many of you here do, there is no shortage of great pickups actually..
