I am thinking of adding a peddle to my mix. These Dan Electros are so cheap, but does anyone have any experience with them?

Re: Dan Electro anyone

The Fab Overdrive sounds great, don't know how long it will last though, the housing and button is plastic.

That's the one I am looking at. Only thing is, it looks like it came out of a bubble gum machine.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I have 1 of the older Dano Octave pedals (the Chilli Dog?) that I received in a trade along with a Marshall compressor.

IT's not the greatest sounding Octave pedal on earth, nor would it stand up to much (if any) gigging use due to it's tiny plastic footswitch, but it's perfectly good for playing around with and for trying new fx.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I use the FAB o.d. more than pretty much any pedal anymore. It really suits my playing. I hate to plug my tune on another thread, but the left rhythm has the FAB OD, and the right has a tube screamer. The lead had a RunoffGroove tube reamer. All 3 pedals are my faves for goofing around and recording, but I tend to reach for the FAB OD the most.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I had one of the Blue Paisley OD's and it was ok in concept, but didn't sound good with my amp. It was, however, built better than the current models. I did try the Fab OD and thought that it was ok for the price. Heck, just get it from MF and return it if you don't like it.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

The bigger pedals are good, I wasn't a fan of the "Fad" series...

...but as far as the mini's go just rehouse 'em and add a better switch and you're in business!

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I have both the Fab od and Fab distortion and was really surprised at how good the Dist sounded and still am. I like it much more than the OD and have other pedals that sound much better for OD tones, but the FAB Distortion is a pretty damn good sounding little pedal, especially for $15 bucks!

Re: Dan Electro anyone

The old Dan Echo pedal is one of the best delays EVER.

I bought one of the little FAB Echos, and it's not too bad. It does only one thing, but it does it reasonably well.

I own a Dan Electro guitar made in 1959 for Sears

Dan Electro's is a bar in Houston.

Oh - you mean the pedals...

Re: Dan Electro anyone

Thanks guys. I went ahead and got it last night. I only do about 12 songs a week, and I never have to tear it down and move to another venue with it, so I thought I might as well give it a try. I am running it with a Line 6 echo park, and a Boss phase. What I like is that it gives me more volume control as opposed to switching channels on my amp.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

Their full size pedals are pretty good actually. I had a Cool Cat chorus that I used as a stereo split, and it was really nice. 18 volts probably had a lot to do with it.

I have no experience with the mini pedals, but they do look pretty cheap.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I've had the Tuna melt tremolo (now owned by Dooogz) and I currently have the Fab Chorus. Both do what they are intended and sound good doing them.

What was the tremlo good for?

Re: Dan Electro anyone

Right now, i own 3 of those "small" pedals. The "T Bone Distortion", the "BLT Slap Echo" and the "Tuna Melt Tremelo". The distortion pedal does the job but i wouldn't recommend it for gigs or any semi-serious applications. It is alright for practice and sit at home jamming. Now the other two, i really like. I especially like this slap echo pedal. Does an excellent 50's slap echo effect that sounds really authentic. Almost reminds me of some early Scotty Moore sounds. The tremelo is pretty cool too, does its job pretty well.

NOTE: To anyone who is considering these pedals, make sure you do get the required power adapter for these pedals. They are almost USELESS on batteries. The battery was dead after a half hour when i tried anyway.

Re: Dan Electro anyone

I used the trem for a chop effect. I switched it to hard and set the time to the timing of the song and it chopped till its little heart was content. I also used it to mimic tom morello's effect on "Like a stone".
