I'll try not to make this too long-winded.
Some time back, a customer brought me one of these, to be repaired:
It's a Trace Elliot acoustic-electric amp. (TA-200S) The thing is, it was killer as an electric guitar amp. (Kinda looks like a big amp head, but has the speakers in it.) It even had Celestion speakers in it. I wanted to build one, but without all the "acoustic" lights, bells, and whistles. (XLR jacks, mini-graphic-EQ, etc.) At that point, it was just a "wish-list" item.
Enter Parts-Express, with their Black Friday sale. They had the original speakers for this on sale for $9.90, with free shipping. Thats all eight speakers for about the same price as one Eminence 12". ($79.20) Celestion-neodymium-5-full-range
I pulled the trigger on all eight. The "project" begins. :banana:
I think I'm going to use a pair of Rod Elliots project-27 guitar amps to power this.
Funny. It didn't occur to me 'til just now that I'm using a Rod Elliot amp to clone a Trace Elliot amp. I wonder if their related.
