Danolectro Reel Echo?

I just picked up a chorus today and bought joelap's Octavia/Fuzz pedal and, because of this, have considered putting together another pedalboard to "experiment" with. As of late I've been interested in post-rock bands like Sonic Youth and Explosions in the Sky, both bands have strange ambient sounds, clean picked passages, and crazy-nutso distortion. I think I've got two of those things covered since the Octavia/Fuzz sounds like it can get pretty nutso (and covers any low octave riffing) and the Chorus covers the clean parts and the occasional acidy warble on the most extreme settings. I don't really have experience with either kind of pedal so I think I have plenty of room to grow. I'll also be sticking the speaker output of the recently purschased Epiphone Valve Special into a 2x12 or 1x15 to cover the volume.

I figured if I add a delay/echo pedal that loops, like the Reel Echo, and since it sounds somewhat different than my trusty DD-3, the rig will be even closer to doing it's "experimental" job.

So, does anybody have experience with the Danelectro Reel Echo? or any suggestions to getting closer to my post-rock goal?

i've used it, but not for that

i know queens of the stone age mostly just use a ****load of reverb, may be a better next choice

Re: Danolectro Reel Echo?

ive got a boss dd-20, best delay pedal ive ever used, far better than line 6 dl4. there's a "warp" mode where you hold the pedal and it goes continuous, so you can swell and go forever, OR, my personal fav, use the modulate function for a rick chorus sound (u2, sonic youth), and have a high level (closest to infinite as possible) and put the delay mix around half, swell in and the chord/note swell will go for soooooo long and then, you can actually switch to the next delay in your bank and the echo from the one you swelled on will still be going! and then you can have a reverse, analog or tape delay sound on the next one, any two delay pedals together can make the BEST sounds. if you use them in series (one after another) the echo will echo the previous delay, so i would use an a/b/y box, split the two delays and use one then the other/both two get your two different sounds.
