Dave Mustaine - 1990 - What pickups did he use?

Re: Dave Mustaine - 1990 - What pickups did he use?

I'm not 100% sure, but he's been quoted numerous times as using a JB for that album

Re: Dave Mustaine - 1990 - What pickups did he use?

The common belief is that he used JB/JB combo ... but I've also read that he used a Custom in the bridge on occasion.

I'm sure Evan or Kellie would know more

I think it's a custom.
I read that he used a Custom (B)/JB (N) combo, and switched to a JB/JB combo in the last years.

on daves jackson kings v black with megadeth logo on it.he used a L500 OR L500XL in the neck, and either a duncan jb or custom in bridge.that was his first main black jackson before the signature series started.i seen him play it on that tour,

I'm pretty sure it was a Custom for the RIP album. But I've been wrong before.

On his silver Jackson KV he had a Jackson pickup in the neck that was not wired up at all. It was either a Custom or a JB at the bridge. It escapes me right now.

JB bridge for sure. Jazz neck or Distortion neck.

Re: Dave Mustaine - 1990 - What pickups did he use?

Dave used the JB/Jazz combo on his alder body guitars. (the black and white signature KV1 you saw in the videos for that album) later on with the KV2 (korina) he used custom custom bridge (sh-11 or tb-11) and jazz neck.

he has his new signature Livewires that are modeled after the JB/Jazz combo.
and his new esp guitars are all mohogany body with JB/jazz.
