I'm thinking about getting a pair of Dave Mustaine Livewires. I've noticed that the pots, and a jack come with the pickups. Do I have to use those or can I use the ones that are already on m guitar?

You can search on this stuff.....the specs for actives and the electronics varies with the model and manufacturer.
Generally speaking, active pups are designed to work with certain control values. But you can be a little creative if you like. I have run 250K (normally use 100K) pots with Live Wires and I liked the added high end.
