They did...in the "early days"

Hannon just uses all stock pups now in his Gibsons...500Ts, 57 classics, 498Ts, etc...Not sure about Tommy...

and IMO, Frank sounds better these days than he did then (and I liked his sound then!). Replugged Live has got some of my fave guitar tones ever...stock Gibson stuff

Not sure about any of the older stuff anymore...most people back then were using JBs or SuperDs...not alot of variation.

I don't think much of randy's recorded stuff was ever the Jackson?..some I'm sure...but the Custom , and polkie were his main axes until right towards the end.

didn't Dimebag use a DD in the early Pantera days(with Terry Glaze)
before venturing to Bill Lawrence and then SD again.

I think Max Cavalera uses/used one as well.
and maybe Mick Mars from Mötley too :)

i'm pretty sure I've read something about Mick and a DD.
I've never heard about Dime and the Invader though.
The only Invader-user I know is/was Tom DeLonge(Blink 182).

and this is on the duncan site in the artists section
* Dimebag Darrell / Pantera, Damage Plan
Pickup Models : SH-13, SH-8b; SH-1n, LW-HMET, SH-6b, SFX-01, El Diablo

Mick Mars goes with 59's or JB's depending on the instrument...

I read somewhere that Metallica used a Duncan distortion on the Master of Puppets album and i think Ride the Lightning.

Also one of the Mastodon guitarists, if not both of em, use one.

Sepultura used a DD on their early and best stuff like Beneath the Remains and Arise.

Strung Out uses DD's I think. They sound kinda bright though but I'm not shure if that's the pickups I hear.
Still an awesome band with amazing musicians. (And they like solo's!)

I know of RR's ,george lynch, eric peterson(testament) but who else
delivers the goods on a DD?

Oh I thought testament was 81 bridge. I think I just read that somewhere. Man I really just started listening to them. Excellent stuff!

Mastodon's rhythm guitarist uses a DD. And lead guitarist, Gus, for Nightrage used it too. (Has singer from At the Gates)

I've never heard him really divulge this information in interviews or anything. Where were you able to get this info from?

That being said, it wouldn't suprise me if he used JBs.

Tommy Victor of the mighty Prong used Distortions in his Jacksons and Fernandes guitars. He also used Distortion loaded Schectors on the last Danzig Album "Circle of Snakes."
