Dead MXR Microamp Plus

Hi all,

I have an MXR Microamp Plus that I may have killed, but before I rip it open or toss it I’m looking for advice. Although the LED shines bright, the pedal passes almost no volume when engaged. There is almost no volume but the gain knob does have a slight effect. Recently I did have the 9v in and the input Jack (both exposed cases) touch and the pedal wouldn’t activate, but after shielding the power cable it worked fine. Since it developed the issue I’ve tried batteries and other power supplies (all 9v, negative center) but with the same results.

Any ideas?

Wow! The MXR Microamp pedal was the secret weapon of many players back in the 70's.
