hi..

what could possibly wrong with a pickup that I measure using my multitester, has no resistance?
Is it dead for good? or fixable?

Thanks

Re: Dead pickup?

What pickup?
What wires are you putting the probes on?
What setting is your meter on? It should be on Ohms with a max reading of 20k or so.

single coil pickup.
Either way i put the probes on, should give me some number, doesn't it?
I did the same thing with 2 other pickups, and it works. Only one pickup doesn't give me any reading

On a single coil with 2-conductor wiring or a humbucker with 2-conductor wiring, it doesn't matter which lead each probe goes to. You'll get the same reading. With 4-conductor it does because you'll be reading either each coil individually or the sum of both coils. :)

Sounds like that one single-coil has a short in it. Is it a Seymour Duncan single-coil?
