I listed this a while back for a buddy of mine Ken. He has a 1991 Les Paul Custom he is desperate to sale. He first wanted $2000 the $1700 now he is willing to part with it for $1400 !!

It's a 91 Custom and it has Duncans. Email or PM me with questions. I can hook you up with my friend Ken.

DAMN!!!!!!! That's a nice guitar! Nice price too!

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

NIce axe, but If I´m reading the S/N correctly it´s a 2k1 and not a ´91.. what´s the first digit?

Which Duncans??? Original Strap pins, Pickups and Case included?

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

I have a call into Ken and as soon as he calls me back I post the complete details of the guitar. Sorry the last 2 x's I posted this no one really responded. I wish I had $1400 that I could spend on this guitar for myself!!

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

I've never seen a custom like that. Did he have it refinished? Looks like he "standardized" it...cream pg/rings, etc...but it's a plain top with a standard-like "burst" finish.

Very pretty.

Looks like a 9 to me Tim on the serial #.

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

I'm not even big into pauls but I would buy that if I had the money. Does your friend have something against ebay or something because I doubt he'd have any problem loading that for 2k on ebay.

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

That's definitely a "9" as the first digit. That's an awesome guitar, where's money when I need it?

They were available with the H cherry S finish in the early 90's and those were all, for the most part, plain tops.

That is clearly not a Cherry burst...it's either a Honey Burst or an Iced Tea...and I agree with all you guys it is a killer looking guitar.

Yes, it is.
*waves hand, indicating usage of jedi mind trick* Christian... you want to buy me this guitar...

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

All im saying is that is neither vintage OR Cherry burst...Gibson does things all the time that they do not list on the website...I saw a brand new 57 reissue Custom yesterday in WHITE...That guitar IS a Honey or Iced Tea burst...no question about it

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

Alright guys.... Ken called me back and then emailed me and another fellow that's interested. The only thing I can say is KEN whatcha thinking dude???? :smack:

Here is the email I got earlier and will hopefully answer some questions:

I'd say the condition is about 8.5 or 9 out of 10. It's got some wear being 14 years old, but it's still solid as a rock. It will come with the hard case, original pickups, and the strap and strap lock system. I'm looking when I get home to make sure I have the original pins for the strap, so I'll have to get back to you. Shipping is $35 anywhere in the continental US after the check/money order clears. I'm really really busy this week so if it takes me a day or two to get back to you, bear with me, and I promise to be back to you soon. I'm looking to unload it soon. Thanks for the interest!

Ken

Not sure I'd post your friends phone number in a public forum? perhaps email/PM it to any interested parties? :)

He could care less honestly, but I went ahead anyways.

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

That is soo gorgeous! But I can't justify spending that much on a guitar I don't need and could barely afford.

Re: Deal of the century on Les Paul Custom

Why doesn't someone just buy it, list it on ebay, play it until it sells, then make a few hundred profit?
Or let me rephrase that: Ken, SELL IT ON EBAY, alternatively, Bent, follow my advice above:-)

I simply told him I would throw it out here as a favor. I knew $1400 was too cheap, but he really needs to let it go. I honestly don't know if he knows how to do the eBay thing. I should be a good friend and make him let me list it on my eBay!!
