I SWEAR I don't need another guitar and thank goodness this is not available in Natural or Trans Amber, yet. :onder: :eek5: :32:

I could see some crazy Uncle Ted tones coming from that beast with a nice set of 59's. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :notworthy

The Dean is Semi-Hollow btw, if it was full hollow I'd be waiting at the store.

Re: Dean Colt

Maple neck, maple body, fender scale...59s are the last pickup I would put in that.

But it looks great, especially in Red.

Re: Dean Colt

Bumping this up.

Has anyone had a chance to play the Colt? It's nearly the perfect guitar for me (would also like it hollow).

Re: Dean Colt

I played a couple. Nice import guitar and not harsh on the wallet. Evilbay has them unless you have a local dealer.

Re: Dean Colt

I wonder how it compares to something like an ES-137. It sounds pretty good for that price.

Re: Dean Colt

So it's a semi hollow and not a full hollow?
Was thinking that one of these could be a good home for some tall pickups, but now I'm not so sure.

It is a semi. I'll know how big the block is tomorrow. Eventually I will measure the depth of the pickup cavity.

Re: Dean Colt

My mini review of the Colt: very nicely made semi-hollow. The feel and craftsmanship is awesome. The pickups were dull (no biggie, I usually swap them anyhow), the piezo was a little too low-volume to mix well with the pickups, and the body block was a little too big for my taste—it basically sounded and felt like a solidbody—but that is totally a personal preference.

I ended up returning it and found a Yamaha AES1500 which is near-hollow (small block under the bridge / stop tail), 2" deep, & 25.5" scale.

If you are looking for a very nice semi-hollow on a budget, the Colt gives you a whole lot of guitar for the money IMO. It would be a knock out player once you put in some real pickups.
