dean or washburn

i am about to buy a used guitar. as far as quility goes which one is better. the washburn dimes or the dean ml series. i will be getting one with a set neck but prooly wont have enough for a usa model. any opinions will be greatly appreciated. also i will be changing the pickups so dont worry about who has the best factory pickups. im just worried about material and workmanship. thanks

If it were me I'd look for a used USA Dean ... but that's pure Bias as I'm a Dean owner. The Washburns play ok from what I remember. I had some time with one of the original Blackjacks (The Black model) from when Dime first switched over to Washburn and it felt pretty decent.

The Import Dean ML's are Bolt on to my knowledge. The Washburns are good but I don't know if they released a Dime without a Floyd on it (if that concerns you)

thanks prophet. i think i may go with the dean 79ml they have just released them by what i read on the dean site. and best of all they dont have the floyd. plus they have a set neck and ppl are advertisin them in the 450 to 500 range brand new which is alot cheaper than used ones with set necks are goin for on e-bay. thanks again.

I own both actually, but given the workmanship that I've seen lately, I'd go with Dean.

i have a dean ml79. Quite possibly one of the nicest import guitars ive played. just swap out the pups and your good to go.
