Decked tremolo 6 point vs 2 point.

Hi!
I'm at a loss as to which bridge to choose for my Stratocaster.
I don't like Floyd Rose and I don't like floating tremolo.
I like 6 point tremolo. I've never used wahmy bar, I can easily lock it by placing it on the body and adding springs, stretching them to the max.
I like the decked option, it works like a fixed with an additional diving option.
I wonder if when doing decked I feel any difference between 6-point and 2-point?

I thought about Wilkinson Gotoh VSVG 6 point tremolo with locking saddles.
I wanted to mount it with 4 screws like Andy Timmons Ibanez.
He used it and looks work great.

Will I see any benefits from 2 point decked?

Best regards

I would think you wouldn't see a benefit of one vs the other, so get the one you like. If you used it a lot, I do like the 2 point better (especially if floating), but that isn't the case here.

If you're decking it and never using it, I would probably go 6-screw (maybe even the Clapton trem block thing?) - more stable direct connection to the body right under the bridge saddle (though Chris or other builders/repairmen might have better insight on that). AFAIK 2-point is to facilitate easier fulcrum movement, lightening the connection to the body and relies more on the block and anchors at the other end of the springs for (resonant) connection to the body.

I prefer the blade design like a Super Vee myself. No binding points and you won't mess it up by over or under torquing a screw.

I agree it doesn't matter overall.

That said - it isn't impossible w/ a 2 point to have the posts up a touch even though the tail is down, and possibly (although incredibly improbably) move it a touch. Of course, you would have to be Kane Roberts beating on the bridge with your fist....

If I have choice and it doesn't matter I'll go 6.

Chances are they sound a bit different. And you have more choices of aftermarket blocks and saddles with 6-point.
