deja vu delay

I'd like to ask some things about the deja vu since i'll be on a delay pedal hunt tomorrow.

1. Will it be able to cop out those tones from cmatmods deeelay(vs. the digital side of the pedal) or wampler echo(vs. the analog side of the pedal)?

2. Is Seymour Duncan planning to change the tap tempo switch to non-latching ones in the future? I kinda need to know this so I would know if I would hold back for now and wait a little longer for a new version if ever.

3. How long does a typical energizer battery last on it?

I was trying to reach Mr Frank Falbo on his inbox from the duncan and TGP forums but my message can't get thru as they've exceeded their message limits.

Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

Re: deja vu delay

I can't answer number 1

Number 2 has been discussed here and It sounded like there would be no plans for changing the switch type but I can't say for sure.

As for number 3, a battery will only last a few hours at best in any digital unit...

Do a search on this forum (I saw you post on TGP too) and see what you can find out there has been a lot of discussion on the deja vu since it came out.

Re: deja vu delay

Thanks. I did look on the search buttons of both forums but since the pedal is relatively new and most delay users at tgp is so engrossed discussing the high end delays, the answers to my questions haven't been discussed yet. The only one I found the answer to is the noise issues which seems to me depend on the rig that players use and it's less likely that the deja vu pedal is the problem as most if not all, delay pedals in tgp have at least one complain of noise issues. My rig is quite simple so I'm not so worried about the noise if ever there is.

Re: deja vu delay

Yeah, TGP is a funny place but there is a lot of good info there too.

As far as the Deja goes just keep searching on here and see what turns up and keep this thread on the first page and some of the guys that have used and or bought the Deja will chime in...

Re: deja vu delay

I have no idea about your first question... never used or even seen those other pedals in person. Compared to something like a Boss delay though, the VU pretty much gives back what you put in. Approaching "rackmount quality" boxes in that regard. And I didn't find the BBD side to be as thick & heavy as my friends Keely AD9 which is nice but too dark for me.

The tap-tempo switch isn't latching.

It does have a bit of a 'click' to it, like a million other pedals (EH & pigtronix) but its not latching and really just not an issue unless your picky or maybe playing barefoot.

You might get a couple 4 hours out of a fresh 9 volt, but really... any digital pedal needs to be run off a power supply if you'll be using it every day.
