I own a DOD delay, but it's an old model. Digitech makes some very nice pedals. The only Boss pedal that I've ever really liked a lot was a chorus that I used about 20 years ago.
I need a dd-6 / 7 soon so that gets my vote... Along with the external tapper so you don't have to worry about holding the pedal down for a few seconds b4 entering your tap... With the external box you can set the tap on the fly
If you want dotted 1/8 notes then something like the echo park is good. If you want easy tap tempo it will cost you a little more. Cheapest two stomp delay I can see is the VOX Time Machine otherwise the digitech. I'm not a fan of BOSS delays or much of their modern stuff (except maybe the flanger phaser and the ch-1).
I have the Boss DD-7. The DD3 will suffice if you don't need the delay time to go under 12ms. But I wanted one that went down to 1ms so I opted for the DD-7. They discontinued the DD5 which I think also went down to 1ms.
