I know these are quite different from each other, and it shows in the demos, but i just wanted to A/B them to be sure of which one i wanted to keep/sell.

I like them both, but the demon wins because of less fizz, more high end bite, and more clarity when i throw more gain at it.... mainly due to fewer winds and the A5.

EDIT: Here's another Demon sample and a Burstbucker 3 sample at a different mic position.

Nice tone!! I would choose the Demon too, it sounds deeper. The Steve's Special sounds cool too. What guitar and amp?

Re: demon vs steve's special

I am hearing what you are hearing for sure: less fizz, tighter and clearer. That said, I liked the extra compression and fluidity from the Dimarzio during leads. Probably why my favorite 'demon is my overwound one. Best of both worlds!

JSX with a 12AT7 in the gain slot, KT77's, texas heats.

LTD M-100 with a brass block, orange drop, elixir 9-46 nanowebs.

That's it! Great tone! And the Demon is definitely among the best pickups I've tried so far.
