Despair! Single coil neck to go with custom custom

Hi

Pulling my hair out over oickup combinations. having removed the JBjr from bridge of my Charvel MIJ strat, I am about to replace it with a Custom Custom (My favourite SD pup) in the mid I currently have a SSL-1 which is great but in the neck there currently resides a SSL-4 Quarter Pounder. This was not a great choice as it turned out to be too thick and too beefy for the kind of tone I was looking for. What should I replace it with? Should I go for an SSL -1 ? Anybody have any experience with the vintage stack plus? I want a more limber strat tone but with a bit more heat.

Sorry, can't.

I have a H-S axe with a Custom Custom and a good sounding single, which, when I split the Custom Custom and pick the middle position is humbucking.

But, I didn't install the single pickup in this axe and it's not the original pickup. It does have vintage leads (white and black cloth) and a wind of around 6.7K, so maybe an SSL5?

Try swapping that SSL1 in the neck and see if you like it.

I love my CC/APS/APS strat.
