Details on dummy coils from electronics gurus

In another thread we were discussing p90s and I wanted to investigate the possibility of using a dummy coil- But I can't find any detailed info on how to detirmine if this is possible, the impact it might have, how to wire, and especially how to make the dummy coil-

Totally possible.
The only issue comes with turning it off with both pickups on, and then reversing phase when one of them is selected, otherwise you'll end up with hum in the middle position and MORE hum in one of them.
It would need to be in parrellel, before the volume control(s).

thanks! anyone else have any ideas? how to wind- how to mount it, etc-
for that mater where is the dummy in a blushawk- what other gtrs used them (think i remember prs bass some time ago-

Ideally, all three coils would be identical.

It doesn't even need magnets.
