Detonator with alnico 5 - marshall mixed with b-52 at-100

i bought a polished alnico 5 magnet from addiction-fx on ebay
made a spacer and threw it on in.
compared with the stock double thick ceramic and the alnico 8 i've tried
this version has some pretty amazing textured mids which i envisioned before buying the magnet.
i also imaged compared the A8 it would have a hotter mid range and more open low and high end.
for us metal heads i really like it.
the lead tone is very bubbly and smooth. clean tone is dead on chimey.
and the rhythm tone in a down tuned application is full of mids and has a fuller bass region than
the alnico 8 by far. i think single thick ceramics and polished A5s are my favorite magnets.
A5's are the fav.

That sounds awesome man. I have an AT-100 myself and that thing has some balls, especially if you throw some JJ tubes at it

thanks guys it means alot.
i just got a new job lately and i really like going to it & feeling better about having money again, that in itself has made me feel so much more alive and aware it even transcends into things like working on music. it felt like for the first time in awhile i was able to retweak everything to get exactly what i wanted. positive mental attitude can help anyone overcome what seem to be road blocks.

I am GASSING for a AT100. I already have the matching cab. B-52 makes some seriously good stuff.

So true! I have been creating so much stuff that really what we have of the band just needs to piece it together. We are feeling really inspired, whether we feel so down or angry or happy. Just a lot of natural chemistry going on.

the name B-52 seems cheesy as in B-52 bomber or something of the sort
but really it was a amp some guy worked hard on to find a nice blend of mesa marshall and whatever else while not trying to sound like any of them.
its a very warm bass heavy amp. made for power chord alternative rock, when its dialed in for metal its right there with mesa imo.
