Diamond Fender P-Bass

Does anyone know about the new 60th anniversary(diamond) limited edition p-bass that fender has out now? My buddy went and bought one and got a crazy deal on it and for whatever reason my skeptical sense is tingling. It has a diamond in the headstock and all kinds of stuff. Does anyone have any dirt on these, or is it really a sick guitar?

I would also like to know what kind of pickups are in there. He was planning on switching them out for duncans but some guy is telling him that the stock pickups are the best ones the guitar. I dont know if this guy's talking out his ass. my buddy doesnt know too much about gear and we're starting a band up, thats why i want to know.
