Did a collab.

Chickenwings

Alnico 6/8
I got asked to play guitar and arrange this original track for a pretty amazing singer/drummer/songwriter in Sydney called Lozz Benson. It is one track in series of tracks she has done collaborating with a bunch of artists from Paul Kelly, Steve Smyth, Midnight Oil and others. This one features the vocals talents of Jeremy Davidson from the Aussie band "The Snowdroppers", along with Lozz of course. It was originally a kind of rockabilly thing but it ended up being pretty much 70s hard rock. A few layers of guitars/amps/speakers.
The video will be out in a few days.
Hope you enjoy!

Re: Did a collab.

How would you classify it?
btw...the first layer of guitar is on a smaller amp than even you usually use! A tele thru a marshall ms-2! lol. The mic was bigger than the cabinet!

LOL! I used that same amp for the intro to a song I recorded; the amp was dwarfed by the SM57 lol. :)

That's a very good question re: the genre. Ultimately, I think genre titles are all rubbish, but it can help someone uninitiated have something to hang their hat on if they are disinclined to listen to something outside their little circle of faves. It certainly has some rockabilly elements, some psychobilly, a dash of blues rock, and maybe a smidge of hard rock... if pushed into a corner I would classify it as 'alternative'. :)

Dunno. Probably just vocals by the sound of it. I wasn't there for the mixing. I know he put some tape echo on the lead part cos i remember him doing that before i let the studio.
