Did I degauss my pickups?

I was drilling out a JB and Jazz set for direct-mounting using my hand drill. It took a long time; felt like a couple minutes per tab. Any chance I degaussed them while doing this? Doing the "pickups-as-refrigerator-magnet" suggests that the magnets aren't all that strong and the JB magnet is weaker than the Jazz magnet, but of course I didn't check this before I drilled the tabs out. Am I just being paranoid or is it possible I screwed up my pickups?

Probably not they are strong permanent magnets which take a lot to degrade.

You didn't hurt the mags by drilling out the tabs.

It's possible the JB mag was degaussed slightly by other causes, however...

You could always swap the mags so the JB has the stronger one.

Well, I put them in and everything sounds kick-ass, so no harm done I guess. Thanks guys!
