Did you say twang?

Re: Did you say twang?

That's just down right discouraging !!! :laugh2: :smack: Who is that guy?
And how does he make it look so easy ?? I believe that's called Flatpicking ?
I was just listening to Skynyrd's cover of `Honky tonk night time Man'
Steve Gaines pulls off a solo like that !! Awesome !

Re: Did you say twang?

It's the namesake of the APTL-3JD!!

Very cool...He's one of my very favorites.

Re: Did you say twang?

haha, Butch... I was sure you'd like that, even if you'd seen it before

yes, it's Jerry Donahue, doing the intro to one of the Hellecaster tunes

the thing I liked, was after all that FLAWLESS twangin and bendin, he gave a wry little smile at the end :D

Re: Did you say twang?

jerry doahue is amazing full stop.

i saw him at the guitar show in manchester this year, i think there was only me and a few older guys who actually recognised him..

he was demoing the line 6 variax and one of the amps.. the guy can really play.

Re: Did you say twang?

this is why i say country players can shred but shredders can't play country

amazing!

haha ... well, ya gotta watch it more than once, for sure! ;)

Re: Did you say twang?

That was amazing. I've always loved that kind of lead playing.

Is that one of those behind-the-nut Zero fret things I see?

Re: Did you say twang?

well, he was bending behind the nut, but the guitar looked like it had a regular nut to me

Re: Did you say twang?

HOLY CRAPPY~! :13:

I enjoyed that as much as (maybe more than!) listening to the late great Chet Atkins, and that's really saying something. That was just utterly amazing, and you're right it's impossible pretty much to only watch it once. Now I think everyone who's seen that is going to press the hell out of their strings behind the nut! :laugh2:

Re: Did you say twang?

Well damn :yourock:. Im speechless. That was amazing. I need to practice my country lol. ROCK ON COUNTRY MUSIC! :headbang:

Re: Did you say twang?

That was amazing . . . now I'll have to seek out some of this guys CD's. :)

Re: Did you say twang?

Damnit, I want to watch it again, but for some reason, I cannot link to the site or save the target... anyone else have this problem?

Re: Did you say twang?

yeah, bummer!

I found that link over on the FDP forum, but I have no idea why it's not coming up
