What is the difference between Duncan Designed HB-103 and Duncan Distortion TB-6?
Is there any noticeable difference in the sound?

Re: Difference between Duncan Designed HB-103 and Duncan Distortion.

Not to my ears. Close enough that I a) Don't care and b) Couldn't really articulate the difference anyway.

I have two guitars with USA DD's and two with 103's right now.

*Neck 103 is a different deal. Not that similar to a USA Distortion neck. More like a super turbo 59 if you ask me...

Re: Difference between Duncan Designed HB-103 and Duncan Distortion.

To my understanding, the HB-103 has a regular-sized ceramic while the SH-6 has a double-thick ceramic, right?

Re: Difference between Duncan Designed HB-103 and Duncan Distortion.

I have the HB-103 set in a Kelly and love it. I have the Distortion Mayhem set and see no reason to swap.

My HB-103 neck sounds like a Jazz? I think the ohms are around 8K.

Whatever the 103 neck is, it is not exactly a Distortion Neck, Distortion neck is 13k....much further off than the 103 Bridge. Maybe a Jazz, 59, whatever. Tonally/hotness, etc. it is different. It does sound good with the 103 bridge though! Did I mention I don't use the neck anyway?

I have a 103 on the bridge of a Jackson V and it sounds really good, and I have a DD on its way that I'm going to put on my Epiphone V.
Just wondering how different, or alike, they are going to sound.

Pretty alike I'd say. I have a Jackson V with a set.
