Can someone tell me the difference between the active single coils .. I mean the difference between Duncans Actives and EMG's actives.. I'm wanting something to stick into a Strat I already have.. 3 singles that is.. I want to be able to play everything from Lynard Skynard and total clean arppegio's to all out War Pigs and not have to change guitars.. I play Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, Lynard, etc, etc.. 80's glam, etc, etc, etc.. That said, I want to be able to get a blues SRV sound out of the guitar.. I'll be using a Fender Deluxe Hot Rod amp..
I'll also have a Gibson like guitar.. I'm trying to put together a three piece bluesy rock band and since I'll be the only guitarist I need good stuff .. etc. .

Thanks
Tim

For all the stuff you want to play and with your amp, you should look at some pedals to give you all the gain options you'll need. Pickups won't cover that much range imo.

I would have to disagree with you there loserchief, IMO I would say that a dave gilmour set would do you justice. Keep in mind you won't be dead on sabath , but you get pretty darn close.
