Difference between electrically and magnetically out of phase pickups?

I'm using a Jazz and soon-to-be Custom bridge in my Les Paul. I'd like to recapture that Peter Green sound I had when I flipped one of the magnets in my old pickup set. Would I get the EXACT same result by hooking up the ground as hot and the hot as ground as I would if I just flipped the magnet?

I think that it's a little bit different, from what I've heard. I flipped the magnet in one of my PGs in my dual PG equipped Hamer Special FM. Love that middle position tone.

Actually there is no real difference whether you flip the magnet or switch the green to hot and the black to ground. The wind directions starting from the black and the green lead are the same.

It is funny, there is no difference, but I've heard a lot of people claiming that reversing the magnet it is much better.
